Explicit Instruction in Mathematics: Considerations for Virtual Learning

A large number of students with and without disabilities—including at-risk—are currently learning online through synchronous and/or asynchronous instruction. As such, it is important for educators to be equipped evidence-based practices—or at the minimum research-based practices—that can adapted or modified teach online, including area mathematics. This article discusses how adapt implement explicit instruction—an practice teaching disabilities in mathematics—to educate those struggling at-risk mathematics within an environment. In addition, this presents resources free paid technology as well additional considerations when implementing instruction
